For Maurice Bissenbergen and Katja Van der Taelen, the date of July 7 will always have a magical meaning. Not only was that the day they opened their restaurant in Bredene in 2007; exactly six and eleven years later – in 2013 and 2018 – La Différence celebrated its reopening after two thorough renovations.

SPECIALTIES
The house specialties are the slow-cooked ribs with whisky sauce, the hot plate and the bison steak to cook yourself at the table, the tenderloin for meat lovers and the handmade steak tartare.

"A warm and friendly welcome from the host and hostess, followed by a delicious mocktail and a glass of cava enriched with two tasty appetizers. We chose tenderloin, fried rare. It was delicious: wonderfully tender meat, well seasoned and perfectly cooked as requested. We had a mushroom sauce with it and that was also very tasty, it actually contained mushrooms (which are often missing in many establishments) and tasted like mushrooms. The salad was also as colorful as it was tasty. The delicious fine fries, clearly not from the freezer, completed the whole thing for us. To round it off, a coupe brésilienne, stomachs well filled and we returned home as happy people. We'll be back!"
